Sacramental FeesOur parish Religious Education Program offers Catechesis and Faith Formation to Catholic children grades 1 – 8 who do not attend a Catholic school. Sessions are held on Tuesday evenings from 6pm until 7:15pm at our St. Gabriel campus. Catechists build lessons around a curriculum supported by Blessed Are We series (published by Benzinger)

Sacramental preparation (For Reconciliation/Eucharist and Confirmation) may begin after at least one year of participation in the program. First Communion preparation (Religious Education Level 2, usually corresponding to Second Grade) begins each May and runs until the following May.

For Confirmation the Archdiocese requires two years of formal preparation. Confirmation I preparation usually begins in May of 6th grade. The primary preparation for these Sacraments of Initiation is weekly worship at weekend Mass on Sundays or Saturday evenings, and the children turn in attendance cards to track this. Confirmation alternates between our churches each year. In 2023 it will be at Saint Gabriel Church.

Two First Communion Masses are held each May, on a Saturday- one in the morning and one in the afternoon. One Mass is at Nativity of Our Lord church; the other at Saint Gabriel Church. We alternate each year which is in the morning, and which is in the afternoon. 

First Eucharist is further supported using the MAGNIFIKIDS weekly magazine, which includes the readings and prayers for the weekend Mass, as well as activities that tie in with the Readings/themes for each Sunday.
